Originally from Carshalton, England, Gary became a fan of golf at an early age because of his dad's love of the sport. He was even named after the South African legend Gary Player. Guided by his dad, Gary began learning the game at age 3 and built the fundamentals that his future success was based on. Today, Gary and his wife Kimberly have carried on the golfing tradition by naming their sons Nicholas and Alex after Nick Faldo and Sandy Lyle. Gary's golfing heroes are Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus.
